Tis So Sweet

“And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” -Psalm 9:10 NKJV

It is hard to trust someone you do not know. When we know God, we trust Him. We trust in His character. We trust in His loyalty toward us. We trust that His plans for us are good and not evil. We must know God in a personal way and we get to know God through His Word. We also know God through experiences that we have with Him. Some experiences we go through in life are joyful and pleasant while others are difficult and troublesome. Many times, we know God more through the difficult times. God works in our hearts as we are broken before Him. In times when we do not feel like we have the strength to go on we are challenged to trust God all the more.  A sweet hymnal that beautifies this process lies in these words “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word….all for grace to trust Him more”

No matter where you are in this season, make a decision to trust God. He is able to handle “it”. When it is difficult to hear God’s voice, read and meditate on His word. Take your eyes off of your situation for a moment and look up! God will never forsake you because you are His child. God is not a father who makes failed promises. Whatever He has promised you WILL come to pass.

Pray for grace to trust Him more!


God, I pray for grace for everyone having a difficult time trusting You. Encourage every troubled heart by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Nothing is to hard for You and You are able to carry every heavy heart. Release more of Your grace today! You told us in this world we would have tribulation but You comfort our hearts to be of good cheer that You have overcome the world!
